The One Rule I’d Get Rid of at school
If I could change one rule in schools, it would denfinitely be the restriction on using technology in the classroom. I understand that many schools implement this rule to prevent distractions, but in today’s world, I believe it does more harm than good.
Technology is not only a major part of everyday life but also an essential tool for learning. The idea of banning technology assumes that students will misuse it, but with proper guidance, devices can be used to improve education. Laptops, tablets, and even smartphones can provide access to a wealth of knowledge and resources that textbooks alone can’t offer. For instance, students can use the internet for research and access educational tools that make learning more interactive and engaging.
Furthermore, we live in a digital age, and digital literacy is becoming as important as reading and writing. By restricting technology in schools, we’re denying students the opportunity to develop the skills they’ll need for the future. Many jobs today require knowledge in technology, from basic computer skills to more advanced techniques like coding. Schools should be preparing students for the future, not holding them back.
Instead of banning technology, schools should focus on teaching students how to use it responsibly. Educators can guide students on how to use these tools to enhance their learning, rather than letting them become distractions. This approach would better equip students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world.
